Coco before Chanel
As one of the most influential women to ever walk across the earth,
this film shows us the life of Gabrielle before her rise to the heights
of the fashion world. A must have for every Chanel fanatic.
The September Issue
One of the most interesting documentaries the fashion world has seen,
The September Issue goes backstage at the VOGUE offices in America, and
gives us meer mortals a sneak peak into the workings behind every
magazine, featuring interviews with the likes of editor-in-chief Anna
Wintour and fiery red-head Grace Coddington, as well as many more. A
must have for every fashionista interested in fashion journalism and the
world that surrounds it.
Lagerfeld Confidential
Similar to The September Issue, this film offers an
up-close-and-personal portrait of one of the most influential men in
fashion, Karl Lagerfeld. This documentary style production offers Chanel
fans an intimate look at the work that goes on behind closed doors, and
provides insightful interviews with Lagerfeld himself.
The Devil wears Prada
A true comedy classic. Inspired by the work of Miss Wintour, this
light hearted film shows the stereotypical workings behind fashion
journalism. The production follows a young, naive girl trying to make
her way up the career ladder of journalism, whilst attempting to keep
her social life separate as she works alongside the ruthless Miranda
Priestly.
Breakfast at Tiffany’s
A true classic. This romantic tale follows New York socialite, Holly
Golightly and sees her becoming interested in a young man who has moved
into her appartment building. Although not totally focussed on fashion,
Holly’s sense of style and unique personality has inspired women across
generations.
