The Exquisite Printing of Giclee Fine Art

The word Giclee is used to describe the art of digital printing on ink jet printers. The ink jet printer combines all of the colors at the same time as it prints to create stunning and beautiful designs that are vibrant with color and full of detail.
The giclee form of printing produces more color accuracy than any other way of printing. For artists who have no desire to mass produce their work giclee printing provides a lovely and artistic alternative. Another great aspect about giclee, is that nearly any size of digital image can be produced for just about any kind of media.
The quality of these digital art forms is the fact that the quality of the prints actually rival something called silver-halide, and it is often found in museums and galleries. At the Metropolitan museum in New York, you can see giclee prints on display. In recent auctions as much as $22,000 dollars has been fetched for one of these prints.
The art of digital inkjet printing is designed to enhance digital images and to disperse the pigment in them. Many of the digital forms of art have coatings which simply enhance the color gamut in very stunning ways. It is very important to protect these delicate coatings from scratches and scuffs.
In giclee printing there is no screen or other mechanical device used, therefore there isn't a dot pattern visible. The result is a gorgeous image with the hues and colors of an original painting. Giclee printers do not use regular printer's ink. They use a special light fast ink that can last as long as 25 years if kept from the sunlight.
Another convenience of this type of printing is that giclee images can be printed on any type of paper you desire to use. The biggest advantage of this art form is the time and money saved. When you paint an original work of art, once you've sold it the painting is gone forever. With the art of giclee, you can make digital prints and sell your art over and over again.
Check into giclee today and see all of the endless possibilities available to you with this very innovative method of digital imaging. It is the perfect way to sell your paintings to those who may not be able to afford an original. Giclee very beautifully displays the colors, the hues and the tones of an original and rare piece of art. Giclee is a creative way to express oneself through art and imagery.

Choosing The Important Areas Of Your Office For Professional Cleaning

Most offices you visit that are clean and neat are cleaned by a professional crew. This is especially true for larger office buildings and complexes. The bank you visit each week is cleaned by a bonded crew while the doctor's office you go to is cleaned by a crew trained specifically for medical facilities. Choosing the service best for offices means you know what areas need the most attention on a regular basis.
Simple dusting can make a huge difference in the appearance of any area. The desks, bookshelves, and other surface areas in the office you work should be dusted every week to maintain neatness and a healthier indoor air quality. Dusting just the furniture is not enough to keep down the buildup on ceiling fans and window sills.
Some pieces of furniture you have in your area may require weekly polishing to maintain their beauty. Some desks, tables, and credenzas are made from fine wood such as cherry and oak. These pieces will need to be cared for regularly to remain beautiful and to add that special touch you saw in them to your work space.
Making sure windows are cleaned once every couple of months is important to the look and feel of your area. In some offices, large windows add to the decorative appeal while other styles are the complete focal point. Talk to the crew you choose to clean about whether or not they clean windows.
One area of every workplace that make a big impact on how clean and neat an area looks is the flooring. This is especially true for offices with light colored carpets. Caring correctly for carpets is vital to how they appear to visitors. Consider how your clients will react to how well kept your office are when they walk in for the first time.
Electronic equipment you use every day in your work also requires detailing to remain clean. In fact, if electronic equipment is not cared for properly, it will run slower or stop running at all. You should always make sure you have your computers blown out and cleaned on a regular basis for preventing down time.
No matter how small your work area is, the cleaner it is, the easier it is to work in. You can see a distinct slowing down of production in the cluttered, unkempt areas. Avoid downtime due to messy conditions in your business and hire a reputable office cleaning company for taking care of it on a regular schedule.

The Most Unique Money Making Ideas You Will Ever Come Across

Everyone wants to earn more money-that's pretty much common sense! The problem with this is that people tend to stick to conventions and end up with clichéd money making ideas. And because everyone has ended up doing the same thing, making a big profit is not all that easy. In order to be successful in business, you have to stand out from the crowd. You have to offer something that nobody else does, and thus have monopoly over this particular product.
Here are some suggestions to get your creative juices flowing:
1. Open up a comfort food restaurant.
Everything is gourmet this, gourmet that these days. It seems like you can't go out for dinner without running into a dozen French cooking terms along the way! Opening up a comfort food restaurant, then, is one of those money making ideas no one would expect, but would definitely help you earn more money! Sure, haute cuisine is great, but when you get serious mac n' cheese cravings, shouldn't there be a go-to place for that as well?
2. Teach a foreign language.
A lot of people spend their time teaching kids musical instruments, theater, or other artistic pursuits, and if you have the knack for instruction, then you should definitely do something as a pedagogue. In order to set your venture apart from all the clichéd money making ideas teachers get, however, why not teach a foreign language instead? If you are fluent in a language other than English, why not let children develop a love for this language, too? Apart from helping you earn more money, it will definitely set your students apart from their peers, and maybe even help them get into a great college in the future!
3. Be a pet pal!
When people go off on vacation, they can usually leave their pet cats and dogs at special pet day care centers, or even pet "hotels." But what if you keep birds, fish, or smaller mammals like hamsters and gerbils? What if you keep exotic pets such as snakes and tarantulas? Wouldn't you like somebody to take care of them properly while you were away for a couple of days? Becoming a pal for unusual pets is one of those untapped money making ideas that can allow you to earn more money than you ever dreamed! Animal lovers should really grab this fresh opportunity!
4. Hold board game parties.
Video games are all well and good, but don't you miss playing old-fashioned board games with a bunch of your friends? The problem is, board games are becoming harder to come by these days, and it can be difficult to arrange a good playing space at home. Having a space for board game parties, then, is one of those money making ideas that just might work wonders! Earn more money and allow people to have a blast at the same time! Just rent a decent-sized space, purchase a few classic board games, and watch yourself become the most popular person in the city!
5. Write personalized short stories.
No gift is more creative than a short story written specifically for someone you care about. Be it about how two people first met, or how someone's child has grown up successfully, there's always something special with every story. If you have a knack for the written word, why not consider storytelling as one of those great money making ideas nobody else has? Earn more money by writing short stories based on your clients' anecdotes. They'll definitely make for a very touching gift!
Earn more money by thinking out of the box! Money making ideas aren't great because they're popular; it's the other way around! The best way to go about things, then, is to find something absolutely unique and compelling to sell or offer as a service. Use the above examples to jumpstart your own thought experiments-soon enough, you'll get that one idea that will make all the difference

Work From Home Opportunity: Do Your Homework First!

These days, there are plenty of jobs in the market that allow us the privilege of working at home. A few examples are freelance writing, affiliate marketing, graphic design and medical billing and transcription. You might be tempted to grab the first work from home opportunity you see in the ads, but before you jump on the telecommuting bandwagon, you need to ask yourself the following questions. They will help you assess whether a home-based job is right for you or not.
1. Do you have the right skills for the job?
While working at home may seem like a piece of cake, most home-based jobs require you to have the same amount of knowledge and skills as any regular office job would. Make sure you're not applying for anything that you don't even know how to do, or at least ensure that you can pick up the skills quickly if you really want to take on that work from home opportunity.
2. Are you fine with not being able to interact with people personally?
While there are some home-based jobs that will probably involve having meetings at a café or in your own home from time to time, most of them will have very minimal personal interaction. Thanks to the advancements in technology, there are ways to communicate without having to ever meet in person - such as through text or video chat, or over the phone. If you're a very sociable person who feels the need to be physically present when speaking to someone, then that work from home opportunity may not be what you're looking for.
3. Can you keep yourself motivated?
With no colleagues around to push you forward, no managers to loom over your shoulder, and all the distractions around your home, it can prove to be difficult to motivate yourself to stay focused and perform at optimum levels. Taking on a work from home opportunity requires you to be able to push yourself to do your best, no matter how dull or boring things seem to become.
4. Do you have the right tools for the job?
While a regular office job will provide you with a workstation complete with all the tools, software, and other items to get your job done, you're going to have to provide all that for yourself when you're working at home. Before you jump onto a work from home opportunity, make sure that you have everything you need to complete the tasks that the job will require of you, or that you can easily acquire them as you go along.
5. Do you have a workspace?
One of the biggest challenges you'll face when taking on a work from home opportunity is that you'll be working somewhere full of distractions. The best way to deal with this problem is to have a designated office space. When you step into this designated space, you'll be more focused and psyched up for work, and your family members will know not to disturb you when you're in that space.
Don't be in such a rush to get into this endeavor right away. This is your career we're talking about, and you need to think things through lest you have regrets later on. Do your homework to make sure you know what you're getting into, work-wise. When in doubt, seek a career counselor.

Simple Money Making Opportunities

There are plenty of money making opportunities out there waiting for you to grab them. If you're willing to work hard and step out of your comfort zone, you can take advantage of the many avenues to make money. A number of them can be done via home based work, while some may require you to step out and meet clients.
You need not worry about shelling out so much money for capital. The suggestions below require very little for starting up. Most home based money making ideas, in fact, are ventures that can be done using the things normally found in the average household. Some skill based work can be performed by people who have had adequate education. So, you see, it doesn't take a lot to carry out these ideas. Give them a shot!
1. Selling your stuff. If you're a hoarder at heart who's running out of space, then it's time to dig for money making opportunities in the piles and piles of so-called treasure you acquired over the years. Select the items you can afford to let go of - the ones that no longer hold any sentimental value to you - and sell them either online or from your own house by putting up a garage sale. Either channel will convert into home based work for you, unless you offer to deliver the goods to distant buyers. But to keep your costs down, the buyers should be the ones to collect the items themselves.
2. Teaching ESL to Immigrants. Not all immigrants arrive in this country knowing a modicum of English to help them get by in everyday activities such as shopping for necessities and asking for information. If you happen to speak their native tongue, you can charge them a reasonable fee to teach them English as their second language (and hopefully make it their first language eventually). Teaching ESL is one of the money making opportunities that can be taught in person or online. If your clients don't have a computer set up yet, then you may have to charge them a slightly higher fee to come to their house to teach them as well as provide learning materials for them.
3. Affiliate programs. Do you own your own domain? If you have your own website which caters to a specific audience, you can allocate virtual space for ads. Join affiliate programs where you earn money each time your readers click on the ads of your partners.
4. Answer surveys. Believe it or not, there are marketing companies that pay people to respond to their online surveys. Go ahead and turn this into one of your money making opportunities. You have nothing to lose from this little venture. In fact, it could be the most relaxing home based work you could ever do while waiting for your next big opportunity. Imagine filling out forms electronically while still in your pajamas and sipping your favorite hot drink. Making money doesn't get any more relaxing than that!
5. Translating copy. There are plenty of money making opportunities in this field, as there are a lot of website owners who wish to draw a larger non-English speaking audience by having language options on their sites. If you can speak and write in a popular foreign language - such as French, Spanish, Italian or German - very fluently, then you can offer translation services as home based work. Advertise your offerings and be ready to give potential clients a free sample of your services, such as translating a few paragraphs for them.
The economy may be tough and jobs appear scarce, but if you're resilient, focused and talented enough, you can find money making opportunities even in the less obvious places. Who knows, your secondary sources of income may turn into full-time ventures one day when the demand for your products and services increases! Don't be afraid to experiment with new ideas and turn to family and friends for guidance when the going gets tough. Good luck and here's wishing you great success!

Some Good Things About Plastic Mailing Bags and Other Plastic Products

Many people believe that all plastic bags have harmful effects to human and the environment. This is not always true nowadays. You will see many great benefits from plastic bags. Environment is not at risk with the new forms of plastics that provide more convenience to humans and nature.
Plastic mailing bags, for example, are among the most useful plastic products people have been using. We use them when mailing different items from one place to another. They are lightweight and durable making them perfect for containing stuff like letters, clothes, books, and boxes. They provide protection to the items since they are waterproof. This means, it prevents moisture from seeping in and damaging the content. It also features an adhesive flap to seal once the item is inside the bag. This feature ensures that the item is secure and tamper-proof.
Plastic mailing bags are available in a variety of colors and sizes depending on the type of item you are mailing. Producers offer them in bulk depending on the size. Many courier companies still use these types of plastic bags in their businesses.
Many people see the word "plastic" as synonymous to "harmful to the environment and human health." The fact is, not all plastic products deserve these wrongful judgments and misconceptions.
The following are some of the advantages of using plastic bags that you must be aware of.
Most plastics today are biodegradable
People now have the choice of using biodegradable plastic bags. Environment movements and advocacies promote this type of plastic over the traditional non-biodegradable products. These new forms break down way faster. This feature does not affect its durability as container of several types of goods.
Plastic vs. Paper
Many people argue that paper bags are better than plastic. The fact remains that paper bags require thousands of trees to be cut down from the forests. What about recycled papers? Eventually, the paper recycling industry would have to cut trees since many people do not know a thing about recycling and tend to dispose their paper leading to decomposition. According to the United States Environment Protection Agency (EPA), plastics use 40% less energy to produce and generate 80% less solid waste than paper.
In addition, plastic bags are resistant to rain unlike paper bags. This means, you can use plastic several times while paper bags, once drenched will not be useful anymore. Paper bags are also inefficient when shopping for goods at the wet market. You cannot use them to hold for fishes and other seafood.
Some people may argue that the cost of recycling plastic is relatively more expensive than paper. According to the EPA, it takes 91% less energy to recycle a pound of plastic than it takes to recycle a pound of paper. This means, plastic recycling takes much less energy than the process of paper recycling.
You see, there are more good things about plastic bags. Environment friendly alternative lies in the proper waste management and recycling. Awareness of its potential harm and a sense of responsibility as human beings will help us take advantage of plastics without compromising the environment.

Case Study: Canberra Olympic Swimming Pool

JK.25071987.
Background:
The Canberra Olympic Swimming Pool development was an ACT Government funded initiative to remove, replace and recycle the existing 22-year-old air-supported membrane enclosure in order to upgrade the look, feel, and functionality of the facility.
Scope of Work:
The replacement structure was required to be a clear-span design with curved roofing in the shape of a dome. PVC tensile fabric with a blue and white colour scheme was specified to match the existing structure design.
Key design criteria included:
  • Improve functionality and visual appearance compared to existing structure
  • Easy to clean, maintain, and repair, with the ability to replace side panels if necessary
  • Provide a comfortable, light and airy internal atmosphere without excessive heat or humidity, through all seasons of the year
  • Ability to open the sides in summer for weather control
  • Incorporate a hanging framework for flags, ropes and other equipment
  • Incorporate a mechanical ventilation system and a suspended internal ceiling liner within the roof space to aid internal environmental control
  • Capable of supporting heavy duty roof fans, artificial lighting, and electrical cabling
  • Structural steel framing to have corrosion protection suitable for an indoor chlorinated pool
  • Existing air-supported membrane to be removed and recycled in accordance with the ACT "No Waste" strategy
The Solution:
The standard Supa-Span-C design was customised to incorporate key project requirements. The steel truss framing was engineered to integrate the required electrical and fire detection systems, and manufactured with a special three-coat high build paint, to avoid erosion. Ferrari 702s membrane was chosen to clad the structure with the 502s range selected for an internal liner.
With the use of translucent membranes allowing natural transmission of sunlight, the requirement for daytime lighting has been significantly reduced. To support and regulate climate control, a mechanical ventilation system operates between the external membrane and interior liner creating an insulation air gap, and mesh vents along the sides of the structure provide the required air and moisture release. A retractable curtain walling system has also been implemented to allow cross ventilation during warmer weather.
In an Australian first, the existing air supported structure was dismantled and recycled using the Texyloop process. Developed by the Ferrari and Solvay™ Groups, Texyloop involves the closed loop method of recycling polyester-PVC composite textiles. Until the arrival of Texyloop, these composites were not fully recyclable due to the difficulty in separating the PVC from polyester fibres. Now these textiles can be separated, minimising the impact of raw material consumption and landfill or pollution through incineration.
Installation of the structure was very difficult due to the limited site access and construction over the existing in-ground swimming pool. Steel assembly was completed in the adjoining car park with the completed arches crane lifted onto the site. The fabric was also crane lifted from the car park to the top of the completed frame and then spread out over the steel frame, fixed, and then tensioned. The installation was completed in approximately four weeks. The existing entrance canopy was also refurbished with new fabric and better blind systems, and mechanical glass sliding doors were added to provide entry into the pool.

How To Make Elaborate Paper Snowflakes

If you’ve got a houseful of bored people or just wish you lived someplace snowy, this is the perfect craft. You can’t very well go skiing on paper snowflakes but they add a nice wintery touch your house long after the Christmas decorations have been put away. They are also very addictive to make. Our family can spend hours cutting these out. This tutorial will help you make very detailed, extra-fancy snowflakes. Little hands might have trouble with the details, but older kids and adults will be fine. They are surprisingly easy and cheap to do. If you think you could never make these, I promise you’re wrong. They look much harder to make than they are.  Give them a try!
DSC_0883.JPG
The materials you need to make paper snowflakes couldn’t be simpler: paper, scissors and a pencil. You can definitely use any kind of paper but run-of-the-mill printer-type paper is kind of thick and makes it nearly impossible to get super fine details. The first year I made snowflakes I only used regular paper and I was thrilled with the results. But the next year I wanted make them even better; I wanted to make mine more detailed and elaborate. If you want to make the prettiest, fanciest snowflakes you’ll need very thin paper and nice pointy scissors. I prefer tracing paper. It’s quite thin and translucent and is absolutely lovely if you hang the snowflakes in your windows. When the sun shines through them they have a soft glow that you don’t get if you use regular printer paper which is completely opaque. This brand is my favorite (I bought this pad of 50 sheets at Michaels for $8. Actually, I had a coupon so it was about $5. Cheap!). Tracing paper is a lot easier to cut as well. Your hands will be aching after a while when you cut regular paper. I also recommend some nice sharp-tipped scissors. These were in the scrapbooking department and cost about $8.

DSC_0602.JPG

Step One: Take a sheet of paper and fold it in half. Make a nice sharp crease. The entire time you’re folding your paper the crease will be closest to you and the loose edges will be further away.
DSC_0894.JPG

Step Two: Fold the paper in half but only crease the very bottom. We don’t want it to stay folded; we just want to mark a halfway point. Open the paper back up so it’s a half-sheet again.
DSC_0629.JPG

Step Three: Take the lower right side and fold it over, starting at the midpoint where you made your little crease.
DSC_0675.JPG

Step Four: Fold the lower left corner over and crease.
DSC_0705.JPG
 DSC_0708.JPG

DSC_0718.JPG

Step Five: Flip the paper over so it’s on it’s back.
DSC_0760.JPG

Step Six: Fold the left side over so it’s completely even with the right side and crease it.
DSC_0765.JPG

You can’t tell in this picture, but you’ll have a paper edge right along that dotted line. This is where you’ll make a cut.
Photobucket

Step Seven: Cut along the slanted edge. The bottom triangular part will be your snowflake. The top bits can be thrown away.
DSC_0809.JPG

Step Eight: Now is the time to draw on a pattern with pencil. The idea is to cut away most of the paper. I’ve drawn the pattern on this snowflake. To make it easier to see I’ve lightly colored the areas that will be cut away. Only the white parts will remain. This seems a little daunting and scary but it’s amazing how just about any design looks wonderful. You might think you need patterns or ideas but just experiment; you’ll get to be an expert surprisingly fast.
DSC_0813.JPG

Step nine: Use your nice sharp scissors to carefully cut out your design. An unfolded snowflake is not much to look at.
DSC_0819.JPG

Step Ten: Unfold your snowflake ever so gently. These things rip like the dickens so be careful!
DSC_0821.JPG
Look how lovely! Prepare to feel an absurd amount of satisfaction. Now if only this snowflake didn’t look so . . . foldy.
Step Eleven: Iron your snowflake. What? Iron paper?!? Won’t it burst into flames? Not if your iron is on the lowest setting. If you try to iron your snowflake by itself the iron will get caught on all the little details and rip your snowflake to pieces. So we’re going to take two sheets of printer paper and make a snowflake sandwich. Put one piece of paper on your ironing board, then put the snowflake on top of it. Top it off with another sheet of plain paper. Now iron it gently on low heat. It won’t take more than a minute.
Photobucket
DSC_0834.JPG
Ah, that’s better!
Photobucket
All done! Now go forth and multiply some snowflakes!  Here’s a hint if you’ll be taping them to windows: don’t place the tape on the outer edges of the snowflake; place the tape inside of the details. It will be much less obvious. I recommend transparent tape but plain old Scotch tape is fine.

To get an idea of how snowflake designs translate from folded up to unfolded, here are some examples:

Sania Mirza becomes a Pakistani girl

Pakistan’s favourite daughter in law, Sania Mirza has created a sensation the likes of which hasn’t been experienced in the region since the celebrated wedding of Imran Khan and Jemima. By choosing to marry small town cricket captain Shoaib Malik, Sania has effectively given the boot to over half a billion of her male compatriots in India. With jealousies simmering on both sides of the border – although more so on the eastern side – this relationship promises to be a explosive affair indeed.
Sania Mirza shocked millions of Indian men as she announced her decision to marry Shoaib Malik. The couple have decided to settle in Dubai afterwards, a wise decision given the now manifest tendency of the Indian establishment to play wedding spoiler, Bollywood style and all. As the public awaits with bated breath the possibility of an actual wedding – or otherwise – pent-up emotions on both sides of the border rise with each passing moment.
